Cape Hatteras, a tiny arm of land hanging off the coast of North Carolina, is an absolute mecca for kiteboarding in North America. With incredible surf waves on one side, and serene flat ocean water on the other, kite communities often drive up to 15 hours, renting massive stilted, wooden, beachfront houses that include everything you need: guest rooms, TV room, games room, swimming pool and hot tub. Each house typically has a very long dock out to the ocean. Professionals, like Canadian Champ Lucas Arsenault (seen in these images), often choose Hatteras for focused competitive training. Real Watersports has a very popular slick, with many ramps and kickers.
