Kite Beach, Cabarete – home to many of the world’s best kiteboarders, living legends of today! Kite Beach has an incredibly rich history in the sport. Being a beautiful, sunny Caribbean, though, most importantly, 200+ days out of the year windy destination, many of the very first kiteboarding pioneers returned here, again and again, to practice their skills and/or ply their brand & trade. Kite schools opened, students flew in, and older equipment was often handed down to the local kids that grew up working on the beach. With equipment, and 200+ days of wind each year, these kids grew up to become pros, some of the best in the world today – Adeuri, Kelvin, Ariel Corniel, Posito Martinez, Luis Alberto Cruz, Carlos David, Nisael Gomez, Andri Ramirez, Lorenzo Calcaño, Brayan Betance, and many more. Now, the local legends, if not competing professionally, manage and teach at the kite schools and pass it on, helping to encourage and bring about the next generation of kite pros behind them. Not only is Kite Beach full of talent there is an incredibly strong community mixing locals and expats, strong bonds of friendship, sharing love for the sessions, sand, sunsets, happy hour, DJs, nightlife – everyone blessed with a life full of potential, a potential full of life, realized. Enjoy!
