2019 School Challenges & Student Success Stories
This is a very special thank you to all our 2019 We Love Kiteboarding Ontario school students and supporters!
We accepted many challenges together: afterwork sunset kiteboarding lessons, long weekend drives from Toronto out the best beginner kite spots in Ontario, deep waters, super-gusty winds, big waves, tangled lines, ripped kites, lost boards, getting skunked at times and the inevitably cold waters of quickly approaching winter.
With passion, and renewed spirits, we returned, again and again, unwavering in our commitment to progression.
And, find success we all did, together!
My dream, starting a kite school, turned out to be no small project. Instructors (me) had to get IKO certified at Kite Club Cabarete, lots of school equipment purchased, lessons prepared daily, car trips organized in advance, spot risks assessed, safety systems and best practices implemented, reinforced at all times. 100% laser-focus always!
Being a kite instructor in is, in fact, a lot of hard work.
And I loved every moment of it <3
However, none of this dream project would come to light unless those who wanted to learn also chose We Love Kiteboarding as their school.
I am blessed for each of you, for placing full confidence in me as your first instructor, allowing me to guide you in theory and effective skills development, while keeping you safe at all times.
Thank you to this year’s students; Aleko, Pierre Vlp, Arnaud, Anthony Thomas, Mark Hinnen, Jennifer Gro, previous students; Robert German, Pam VanDusen, Vic Byers, Anthony D’Alessandro; thank you referring friends Andrew Pichora, Romain Bahia Augusta; and kite mentor, Stef Pro; plus everyone else who has played a role, big or small, bringing first year success to We Love Kiteboarding!
This is an amazing start, far more than I imagined would happen this year in Ontario – and I’m stoked, looking forward, at our future together.
A very special shoutout to Denys aligatr who has been 100% supportive throughout this year, sharing with me his experience as a world-class kite school owner-operator, helping to ensure we are all winning schools here in Ontario!
