First, the environment is excellent, at the Outer Harbour Marina in Toronto. Plenty of parking, polite staff. Then he has a boat and lots of equipment to use. For a beginner like me, boat support is fantastic! Plus, Al, his assistant is fantastic; they work together seamlessly to ensure a calm, safe experience which allows for learning for the student. They are both encouraging and really are focused on the task. And of course, they arrived on time and were generous with me with time, I never felt rushed. Keiron is exceptional at explaining with words and body language the subtleties and reasons of the foundational skills for foiling. He has a keen eye for seeing points of improvement so the student can learn and progress. All that with finesse of language and regular reminders of the basics, to they become engrained. I definitely recommend this school and will plan to do more learning with them. Kieron gave me a two-hour lesson that turned into three and a half - until it was too dark to carry on in fact 😂 He was super patient and I'll be back for sure. Keiron is a great instructor! I booked a wake surf class for me and 5 friends, we all managed to stand up and some even caught the wave! The school is really well-equipped, making it easy to learn and practice no matter the wind conditions. Keiron is a fantastic teacher and he loves what he does. I’ve brought friends on the boat to learn to wake surf and they all got up without any prior experience. I’m currently learning to hydrofoil behind the boat and the also teach wing foiling. patrick wilson2025-06-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great guy and team. If you're reading reviews to decide if Keiron and team are the right choice to start your journey - just do it. He is the guy. My friend and I went to Cabarete for 3 days with the sole purpose to get wingfoil instruction from Keiron. It was a humbling experience. It takes time and the learning curve is steep but Keiron along with the help of the local boys Yonny and Yarson kept us motivated and on track. Keiron's ability to teach basic principals and foundational concepts is what makes him special. By the end of trip I was calling him Sensei because he imparts some pearls of wisdom that I found really useful. We even managed to experience our first flight. Other honourable mentions if you're thinking about traveling to DR: Kite Beach is a vibe and you get immersed immediately into sport. Watching some of the best in the world is inspiring and worth it alone. The wind in late March/early April was like a machine 25kts everyday. I figure in the 3 days we were there we got more time on water than we would have waiting for wind in Toronto for an entire season. Not to mention warm, sunny and clean water. Well worth the effort to go down there... Having the support of the boys on the beach to get back up wind was a must. Couldn't have done it with them. Last and most importantly - WeLoveKiteboarding is doing some very cool community work down there. Life on the beach is a dream but life on the other side of the road is anything but. Through initiatives that Keiron is leading they are making a big difference in the lives of local kids who are able to learn new skills and focus their energy into something positive through the kiting and winging community. Big ups to the team down their doing amazing work - if you do make it to Cabarete ask how you can help before you travel. See you on the water
